WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Clearstory today announced an enterprise agreement with Suffolk, one of the largest and most innovative builders in the United States, to standardize change order management across the general contractor’s national portfolio. Clearstory’s platform will be deployed as a standard tool within Suffolk’s Tech Toolbox, giving project teams instant visibility into change activity and improving cost transparency across projects nationwide.
The rollout followed a disciplined evaluation in close collaboration with Suffolk’s technology team to ensure seamless implementation across active projects. As adoption expanded across jobsites, teams quickly experienced measurable improvements in how change orders were captured, tracked and resolved. Through the partnership, Clearstory worked alongside Suffolk to address traditional inefficiencies in change management, bringing proactive visibility to pending change items and strengthening alignment and transparency among project teams, trade partners and owners.
“Change management has long been one of the most complex and risk-prone aspects of construction,” said Andrew Woodward, Senior Director of Construction Technology and Operational Excellence at Suffolk. “Clearstory resonated with our project teams because it helped them capture extra work in real time, create transparency with trade partners, and improve cost forecasting while reducing financial risk. Teams quickly saw meaningful time savings and less reliance on manual, repetitive workflows, which supported our decision to move Clearstory from a recommended to a required solution in the Suffolk Tech Tool Box.”
By replacing fragmented tools such as spreadsheets, emails, paper tickets, and disconnected systems, Clearstory provides Suffolk teams with a single, shared change order log and digital time-and-material workflows. This approach gives teams earlier visibility into cost exposure, strengthens collaboration with subcontractors and owners, and enables change items to be aligned and closed continuously, reducing surprises late in the project lifecycle.
Clearstory integrates directly with Procore, allowing change activity to flow seamlessly into Suffolk’s core project systems while ensuring the platform aligns with Suffolk’s operational standards and can scale consistently across regions and project types.
“Suffolk sets a very high bar when it comes to technology,” said Cameron Page, CEO of Clearstory. “Our teams worked closely to give Suffolk’s project teams real-time visibility into change activity and a common workflow that keeps all stakeholders aligned as projects move forward. The result is faster, more transparent change management that reduces risk and scales across a diverse, national portfolio. We are proud to support Suffolk as they standardize Clearstory across their national portfolio.”
With this rollout, Clearstory continues to expand its presence among leading builders seeking greater cost visibility, stronger collaboration, and more proactive management of change across construction projects.
