Project managers aren’t paid to fill out forms. They're paid to keep projects on track, manage costs and risk, and make informed decisions when changes impact the job. But the manual overhead of change order administration, building first drafts, reconciling allowances, and bouncing between systems, keeps eating into time that should go to the actual job.
The May 2026 Clearstory release is built around closing that gap. Here's what's new:
COR Pricing Agent (Closed Beta for Feedback)
Building a Change Order Request from scratch is one of the most tedious and time-consuming parts of the change order workflow. Scope descriptions, line items, formatting backup before anything goes out the door.
The COR Pricing Agent gives contractors a faster way to get to a first draft. Just describe the change in plain language inside Clearstory. Clearstory AI drafts the COR, suggests pricing, and asks follow-up questions when context is missing. You review every suggestion. Nothing is saved until you approve it.
Clearstory AI proposes. Your team decides.
The goal isn't to automate decision-making. It's to get past the blank-form problem, so your team can spend their time reviewing and aligning instead of typing.
The COR Pricing Agent enters closed beta for feedback on May 28. Spots are limited. To request early access, contact your Clearstory customer success rep.
Plexxis Integration (Open Beta)
For teams running Clearstory alongside Plexxis, this release ends the manual data handoff between systems. The Plexxis integration enables direct syncing of CORs and project data between the two platforms. No export, no re-entry, no reconciliation after the fact.
The integration enters open beta on May 28, meaning any Clearstory customer can request access. If your team uses Plexxis, contact your CS rep to get set up.
Also in This Release
Beyond the three marquee features, May includes a meaningful set of analytics and usability improvements worth knowing about:
- The Days Aging Report now has clickable cells. Each aging bucket (0-30, 31-60, 61-90, 91-120, 121+) opens a drill-down dialog listing the underlying CORs with search and filter support. Contract Insights adds Select All support, matching the behavior of other sub-reports, and the Rollup Report now has sortable columns
- The File Picker has been fully rewritten and is now available to all customers, covering Autodesk, Procore, Egnyte, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Google Drive. RFIs and Submittals can now also be selected from Procore.
- For financial flexibility, allowances can be overdrawn when needed instead of stopping at zero, giving project teams more control over evolving project costs without creating workarounds. Teams can also enter negative allowance draws to add value back into the available balance when adjustments or credits occur, creating a more accurate running view of remaining funds throughout the project lifecycle.
- A significant number of pages have also been updated with a modernized interface as part of Clearstory's ongoing host-UI consolidation: the COR Log, Rates, Manage Users, Manage Labels, Offices, and Advanced Settings pages all received UI updates this release.
Finally, the API has been expanded with the ability to create draft CORs, retrieve COR details, and access reason categories and category groups, a useful upgrade for teams building custom integrations or reporting pipelines.
What's Coming
This release includes a mix of generally available improvements, beta launches, and staged rollouts planned over the next several weeks.
Allowances Phase 2 enters closed beta this month and moves to general availability in June. Contract Insights Select All support and Days Aging drill-down reporting also reach full release in early June.
The COR Pricing Agent will continue through closed beta as Clearstory works closely with customers to refine pricing suggestions, workflow logic, and review experiences ahead of a broader rollout later this year.
The goal of this release is simple: reduce the administrative burden around change management so project teams can spend less time pushing paperwork and more time driving the job forward.
